AM I ALLOWED HAVE A CAMPFIRE AT MY RENTAL HOME?

Unfortunately, we are not able to allow outside fires of any kind.

WHAT ARE THE HOURS OF YOUR POOLS AND WATER PARK?

Open Memorial Weekend – Labor Day Weekend
Pool Hours: 10 AM – 7 PM, Monday thru Sunday
Water Park: 10 AM – 7 PM, Monday thru Sunday

Please Note Pool Policies:

• No glass containers allowed.
• Children under 16 must be supervised by an adult at all times.
• Swim at your own risk.  No lifeguard on duty.
• No smoking.
• Noise must be kept to a minimum.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN MY CAMPING FEE?

Access to the pools, amphitheater, arcade, jumping pillow, basketball courts, sand volleyball, gaga ball, horseshoes, 2 miles of walking trails, playgrounds, fishing, swim beach, kayaks, water trikes, and water bikes.

Admission to Pirate’s Bay Water Park is a separate fee outside of resort fees.

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I MAKE MY RESERVATION?

We recommend booking at least 3-6 months in advance of the desired arrival date.

WHEN IS THE CHEAPEST TIME TO BOOK?

Visit us during the months of November through February and enjoy reduced rates! Please keep in mind, activities are limited to weekends only during these times.

WHAT ARE YOUR PEAK AND NON-PEAK SEASON DATES AND DOES THAT AFFECT THE ATTRACTIONS?

Our resort dates and availability of attractions vary throughout the season and are as follows:

Peak Season:

Memorial Day Weekend – Labor Day Weekend

Sun-Th – 8:00 AM – 9:00 PM

Fri-Sat – 8:00 AM – 11:00 PM

Non-Peak Season:

Mid-April to Memorial Day Weekend & Post Labor Day thru October

Mon-Sun – 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM

Off-Season:

November thru Mid-April

Sun-Th – 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Fri-Sat – 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM

*Events, attractions, and facilities have limited availability during the non-peak season.

CAN I TOUR THE RESORT?

We are happy to show off the resort, and we do allow tours. However, we cannot allow tours on holidays or busy weekends. Please call ahead. We would hate for you to waste a drive.

WHAT ARE THE STORE OFFICE HOURS?

Peak Season
Sunday to Thursday: 8 AM – 9 PM
Friday & Saturday: 8 AM – 11 PM

Non Peak Season
Monday to Sunday: 9 AM – 5 PM

HOW MANY GUESTS CAN I HAVE ON MY RESERVATION?

Occupancy varies by house. Please follow the occupancy number provided in the description of the home.  Occupancy CANNOT exceed the maximum occpancy number listed on the website.

WHAT CAN I USE MY GREAT ESCAPES GIFT CARD TOWARDS?

Great Escapes gift cards are applicable towards reservations, store purchases, or activities & amenities.

ARE LINENS PROVIDED IN ALL RENTAL HOMES?

Yes, linens are provided in all rental homes. Chesnut Bay homes are individually owned, so each may offer different supplies. Each was originally equipped with basic pots and pans, plates, glasses, and silverware.

The following is a suggested list of items you may want to bring to make your stay more enjoyable:

• Groceries
• Paper towels
• Dish and hand washing soap
• Personal toiletries
• General cleaning supplies
• Sunscreen
• Swimwear and beach towels
• Fishing gear
• Insect repellant

Basic supplies are for sale in the Chesnut Bay General Store, and several grocery stores are conveniently located in nearby Centre, Alabama.

WHAT KIND OF FISH ARE IN WEISS LAKE?

Weiss Lake is rated as one of Alabama’s top fisheries and is known as the “Crappie Capital of the World.” White and black crappie are abundant, along with largemouth, spotted, and striped bass.

WHAT ARE THE FISHING AND BOATING REGULATIONS AT WEISS LAKE?

A fishing license is required. Fishing Licenses may be purchased online or at area bait shops and marinas. IS FIREWOOD AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE?

We have firewood available for purchase at our store. A bundle of firewood (7 or 8 pieces) is $6.99. To preserve the beauty of our wooded Resort, please do not cut down or damage trees in any way.

CAN I BRING MY OWN FIREWOOD?

Chesnut Bay Resort does not allow campers to bring in outside firewood in an effort to help protect Alabama’s forests from damaging invasive pests like emerald ash borer, imported fire ant, and laurel wilt which have caused major issues in Alabama and many other states. Nearby states harbor other pests which have the potential to thrive in Alabama such as the giant African land snail, thousand cankers disease, and gypsy moth. Such pests pose a serious threat to the health of Alabama’s natural resources.

CAN I BRING MY OWN GOLF CART, MOTORIZED SCOOTER, OR ATV TO THE RESORT?

For safety and liability reasons, guests are not permitted to bring any personal motorized vehicles, such as golf carts, into the resort. While we do not like to be the fun police, guests found in violation of this policy may be asked to leave without a refund. For your convenience, we do offer golf cart rentals that allow accessing our resort easy…and fun!

HOW DO I RENT A GOLF CART IF I AM STAYING OVERNIGHT?

PLEASE NOTE: Golf carts cannot be parked on the grass at anytime.

HOW MANY CARS ARE PERMITTED AT MY SITE AND MAY I HAVE EXTRA CARS?

You may have two cars per rental home, but each car should have a car pass hanging on the rearview window. These are given with your reservation materials. We do not allow extra cars per site because we do not have enough parking space available. ** Extra cars may be permitted due to individual circumstances and events but must be approved by management prior.

DO YOU HAVE QUIET HOURS?

We do! Quiet hours are 10:00 PM – 8 AM daily. Any guest under 18 years of age must be at their rental home during these hours unless accompanied by an adult.

ARE ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ALLOWED AT YOUR RESORT?

They are, but the beverage must be held in an unmarked container or koozie. Glass containers are not allowed in the pool areas and or activity centers. This is a family-friendly Resort, so please be considerate of others and refrain from loud and unseemly language.

ARE PETS ALLOWED?

Chesnut Bay Resort allows pets under 20 pounds.  These breed are not permitted: German Shepherd, Pit Bull, Bulldog, chow, Rottweiler, orDoberman.
